　　In2012,theband"TheSlap"wentviralontheInternetovernightwiththesong“BureauChiefMr.Wolf's18Touches,"asongthatwaslaterbannedandunbannedforcountlesstime,andyetstillcirculatedwidelythankstoitspopularity.Lyricsofthesonghadinstantlybecomeaclassic,with"BureauChiefMr.Wolf"seenasanemblemofChina'spowerfulandprivilegedbureaucraticclass.

　　Later,withaseriesofstunningpoliticaleventsinvolving"slaps",theyearof2012doesindeed,seemtobecomeayearofslaps,asinanironictwist,someeventhinkthat"TheSlap"wasformedafterthoseevents.

　　Whois"TheSlap"?Whoistheband'sfrontmanholdingafanwhocallshimselfHuangtangZhao?Informationislimited.SomethinkheisadiscipleofatraditionalChinesecomediantrouple,somethinkheisthehostofatalkshow,andsomeeventhinkheisacommentatorofcurrentevents,onlydisguisedasanartist.

　　Butinreality,"TheSlap"isabandwithahistoryof14years.Formedin1998,TheSlapspecializesinatypeofcriticalrockmusic,andduetotheirsincerityandunwillingnesstoparticipateincircles,beforethisyear,thebandwasvirtuallyanunknownwithobscurereputation.Italsocameasasurpriseforthem,thatasongcommentingoncertainpoliticaleventsonlinewouldmakethemnotableovernight.Youcallitkarma,oryoucallit"it'stime",inanycase,"TheSlap",withtheirrockbeats,sharpcommentsandtheirsarcasticwhip,leavesagoodslapmarktosomanypeoplethistimearound.

　　After"BureauChiefMr.Wolf's18Touches",HuangtangZhao,thefrontmanofthebandrevealedthatitisonlytheexcerptofanevenbiggeropus,ortoputitinanotherway,it'slikethepreviewforafilm.Thenextsingle,"BossMr.Bei's18Diagrams"impressedevenmorewithwhatthebandiscapableof.ThetwosongswererumoredtobethefirsttwopartsofaTrilogycalled"MountainChrysanthemumTrilogy."AttheendoftheChineseyearofdragon,TheSlapwillcomeforwardwiththelastpartofthetrilogy,toconcludethisgroundbreakingrockandrollseries.
